“I’m scared, I don’t want to go to Australia. Accidents happen everywhere, but they are treating this differently. I have no resources to fight (the case),” he told News Corp Australia.
His mother said outside the court that “accidents happen all the time”.
“So many Indians were killed in Australia probably in cold-blooded ways. What about those?” she added.
A string of attacks on Indian students in Australia in 2011 outraged public opinion in India and led to accusations of racism against migrants, sparking a diplomatic row between the two countries.
No one was killed in these attacks, so the mother is lying. And if they were, the killers would have faced justice, so what’s her point? That all Indian people should get let off because a few Indians got called names?
His father told Fairfax Puneet was a victim in the case.
“There is differential treatment for Indians in Australia. I do not think he will be safe there. He is not an accused, he is a victim,” he said.
Even when we’re the victims, we’re still called racist.
If Australia is so racist, why does it allow so many immigrants of different races to move to Australia? Surely a racist country wouldn’t let other races in in the first place?
