Man threatened with iron bar
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened with an iron bar on his walk home from work.
The incident happened on Friday, February 24, at around 5.45pm at the junction of Russell Street and Salisbury Road, Luton, when the victim was approached by two men.
After being threatened with the iron bar, the 41 year-old handed over his phone and watched the two men leave the scene towards Salisbury Road.
The first man had an Asian appearance with a light complexion, between 16 – 21 years of age, clean shaven, with short black hair and a stocky build. He wore jeans, a long sleeved grey top and white training shoes.
The second was also of Asian appearance but with a dark complexion, between 16 – 21 years of age, with short black hair, approximately 5’3” tall. He wore dark jeans and dark hooded top.
The officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Constable Surfraz Hussain, is keen to trace anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident.
DC Hussain said: “The victim was so intimidated he handed over his telephone but during the incident the victim did try to get the attention of a woman who was driving close by in a silver Peugeot 205cc coupe convertible.
“I would urge this woman or anyone else who was in the area to contact the police and assist with this investigation.”
