BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The heartbreak of Wednesday’s deadly attack at ECMC is only beginning to sink in for the victim’s family and friends.
Jackie Wisniewski was a single mother of a little boy. She was a clerk working at ECMC with aspirations to become a nurse. And according to a friend News 4 spoke to on Wednesday, she was terrified of Dr. Timothy Jorden.
Turning on the news and seeing a picture of Jorden made Heather Shipley fear the worst.
“She told me if anything happened to her, that it was him,” she recalled.
In the last couple years, Heather had become friends with Jackie Wisniewski. They met at Erie Community College. And while together, Heather says she became Jackie’s confidant, listening to Jackie’s fears about about her ex-boyfriend Dr. Timothy Jorden.

“She was a good person. And he’s stupid because she loved him. She loved him. And she had to get away from him because he’s psycho,” Heather said.
She says at one time, Jackie was living with Jorden, but left him because she believed he was having affairs with other women. And when she left him, he wouldn’t let go.
“She told me he had stuck a GPS on her car and hid it. Knew everywhere she was going,” Heather said. “He was driving by her house, sitting in the parking lot across from her street, stalking her.”
Heather added, “She was telling me how he held her hostage in her house for a day and a half. Most of the time on her kitchen floor with a knife. And he actually did stab her, but it wasn’t bad enough, but she was blooding. She was afraid of him. She was deathly afraid of him. She told me.”

“This is what she told me. He also said, ‘Why do you think my exes don’t live around here? Because they know this is how I am,’” Heather noted.
Despite all of that, Heather says Jackie loved the doctor and wouldn’t have left him if not for the cheating. And that’s probably why she didn’t do more after his scary behavior.
Heather explained, “She didn’t want to get him in trouble because he was a surgeon and she didn’t want to ruin his reputation.”
But now that Jackie is gone, shot several times while working as a clerk at ECMC, Heather is torn up that it had to come to this.
“He definitely needs to be caught,” she said. “You don’t deserve to be alive either. Taking someone away like that for no reason. Didn’t have to be this way.”
Heather feels deep regret she wasn’t able to do more with all these warning signs.
