A Kildare man who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl while saying he was looking for “hash” has been remanded in the Central Mental Hospital pending sentence.
24 yr old Michael Ogunbawo of Easton Green, Leixlip but originally from Nigeria suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. During the assault he threatened to “break her face” if she didn’t stop trying to escape.
Ogunbawo pleaded guilty to sexual assault of the 16 yr old on July 7, 2006 in the home of one of the girl’s friends. The girl was out shopping when she received three unusual phone calls, all of which asked her for hash…In the third, she was asked for sex. The girl recognised the voice as being Ogunbawo’s.
She went to a friend’s house later that day, where she saw him in the sitting room. He grabbed her arm and pushed her against the wall.
She fended him off, and while sitting on the couch, he put his hand on her leg, pinched her buttocks, and put his hands down her top He told her he would “break her face” if she did not keep still. The girl and her friend ran outside where they met the friend’s mother who told them to call the gardai. Ogunbawo was arrested shortly thereafter.
Ogunbawo suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and has 12 previous convictions including several for assault and theft.

What about the four white boys that raped a black teenage girl in Dublin? did the irish press carry the news and were the four white boys blacklisted, brought to justice or convicted? the answer is “NO” . Injustice will never end but the Spirit of Justice and Truth can never be defeated no matter what anybody does. Remember, the evil that men do no longer live after them but lives with them while they are still living on earth.
The difference is that it’s Dublin. It’s not Abuja. ASSUMING YOUR STORY IS TRUE (you’ve given no source), the white boys are indigenous – they were there already. In this case, this violent rapist has been imported into the country by Liberal politicians who don’t care about the native people of Ireland. Black rapists don’t need to be in Ireland. We could very easily keep them out in the first place.
In both cases, if black people hadn’t been allowed into Ireland in the first place, neither rape would have happened.
People naturally care more about their own kind. It’s called in-group bias, and it’s a natural, healthy instinct for group survival. Read the works of Robert Ardrey or E.O Wilson.
So – ASSUMING YOUR STORY IS TRUE – it’s no surprise that the Irish people care more about one of their own being raped by a black foreigner in their country, than about one of their own raping a black foreigner in their country. Because it’s one of their own, and it could very easily be prevented by not letting black immigrants into Ireland in the first place.
You’re acting as if blacks and whites have equal claim to Ireland. They don’t. Even if they have equal legal standing given to them by the government, they don’t have equal ethnic standing in the subconscious of the indigenous people. And that’s how it should be.
I’m sure if an Irish immigrant went to Nigeria and raped a Nigerian, the newspapers would be upset about it too.

I must say that i find your comments to be completely weired, biased, selfish and uncivilized. To start with, the population of Ireland is roughly in the region of 4.6 million according to statistics. Now, the population of Irish living both legally and illegally abroad is roughly in the region of 120 million. What do you say to that? Did you forget that the Irish were the first to initiate illegal immigration?
I was in DC few years ago when one of your Prime Ministers flew into the White House to solicite for legal documentation of about one million illegal Irish living in the United States. My question is, why did your government make that move?
You know what??? On my street alone (Claremont Avenue, Bronx 10462, NY) there about 3000 illegal Irish immigrants and they`re the ones committing most of the crimes in the neighbourhood. Americans and NY Police Dept. are not gonna kill them or condemn them because they`re foreigners or probably treat them differently from any other American that have committed similar offense. They face same legal system like any other American; besides, we not gonna condemn the entire Irish people over that or start complaining why they were allowed into the United States in the first place, it will be silly, mental and uncivilized to reason that way or go down that lane.
In any case, if you`re so worried and concerned about foreigners living in your country then make reasonable effort to return all the legal and illegal Irish living abroad to the Republic especially those living illegally in my country. When you`ve achieved that then we can all worry about the foreigners in Ireland. It should be a two way thing and nothing short.
What do I say to that? I say it’s irrelevant. If America has a problem with Irish immigrants, then America should do something about it. The Irish did not initiate illegal immigration into Nigeria.
My government probably made that move because of the reasons I’ve already stated – wanting what’s best for one’s own ethnic group. Although I’d be very surprised if my government did that, since I’m not Irish.
What you’re saying makes no sense. You’re saying that somehow, because America let Irish immigrants move to America in the past, Ireland should let Nigerian immigrants move to Ireland in the present? It’s a non sequitur. If America let Irish immigrants in and they caused problems, then that’s America’s problem, and America should rectify it. Although statistically, blacks commit way more crime than whites, in any country.
If that`s irrelevant then it is irrelevant for you to complain about foreigners or Nigerians in Ireland. If you really have a problem with that then deal with it same way you expect Americans or possibly hang.
Again, Irish may not have initiated illegal immigration into Nigeria but the Irish taught not only Nigerians but the entire world everything about illegal immigration. Go back to History.
Atleast, you agreed your govt. did make the move to solicite for illegal Irish immigrants in the States that means they accept and acknowledge the fact that everyone irrespective of their ethnic background has the civil right to live where ever they want. If you are not Irish like you claim, what are you doing in Ireland? Why are you not in your home country?
Well, I think what you`re saying is baseless too because if America and the world including Nigeria accepted Irish during the great famine in Ireland then the Irish should do the same both presently and in the past. And if the foreigners cause problems then thats Ireland`s problem, they should equally deal with it same way as my country would do – Although, statistically whites initiated crimes against humanity, corruption and violence. Rape is wrong, and barbaric! whether committed by a black, white or purple man/woman, the accused should be charged and if found guilty, punished accordingly. And always remember that the Irish where in Africa long before the blacks came to Ireland.
