Nsa Okpo became involved in a heated confrontation on July 16 last year with officers in a laneway off Moore Street in Dublin after they asked to see his driving licence.

A MAN who raped and murdered a Belfast mother-of-one was yesterday told he must serve at least 22 years of a life sentence before even being considered for release.
Jailing Kristoff Emmanuel Alauya (25) from Nigeria at Belfast Crown Court, Mr Justice Weir told him he could find no evidence of remorse or contrition on his part for the gruesome killing.

A TAXI driver who brought a woman back to a party in his apartment and raped her while she slept has been given an eight-year sentence with the last two years suspended at the Central Criminal Court.
Mr Justice Paul Carney said that Anthony Omagufi’s position as taxi driver was an aggravating factor as “women must be in a position to feel safe when they use a taxi, particularly late at night”.

A MAN wanted by the German authorities to serve a five-year sentence imposed for the rape of a woman more than seven years ago has been granted bail at the High Court.
Father of two Anthony Abimbola, Garage Court, Oldtown, Letterkenny, Co Donegal, with a previous address in Dortmund, Germany and a Nigerian national, is wanted by the German authorities following his conviction in 2000 for the rape of a young woman in the city in October 1999.

A Nigerian man who claimed that the jury which found him guilty of the rape of a Limerick woman was racially prejudiced against him has lost his appeal against conviction.
Emmanuel Ashibougwu (26), The Square, Annacotty, Limerick, was jailed for nine years by Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Central Criminal Court last January after he was convicted of raping the 20-year-old woman in the early hours of the morning of December 27th, 2004, at a car park in the Punches Cross area.
Thu 10 Oct 2002Man admits driving at pedestrians
A Nigerian man drove down a busy pedestrianised street at 60 m.p.h. knocking down shoppers like “skittles in a bowling alley”, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court has heard.
The incident happened in October last year on Henry Street, Dublin. Witnesses described a Ford Escort turning from O’Connell Street and the engine being revved. Horrified onlookers were thrown into the air before the car ploughed into the back of a construction van.
